Ravens vs Chargers Highlights, Recap and Scores: Sunday Night Football

San Diego Chargers are still alive in the chase for a playoff berth as they dismantled the Baltimore Ravens 34-14 in the Sunday Night Football that altered the playoff scene in the AFC.

Philip Rivers completed 17 of 23 passes for 270 yards and one touchdown as navigated through the mouth of the mounted defense of the Ravens. He also managed the game superbly bringing a distance to the Ravens before the fourth quarter starts.

The Chargers are now tied with the Raiders and one game behind the Broncos, both teams lost their games Sunday that provided a chance for San Diego to be in the playoffs. However, it the victory provided them to continue their streak to three. With two games left in the season, the Chargers still can get the edge as the winner of the division. Also, there’s still a chance to get one of the playoffs slots through a wildcard but the easiest way is to get the division.

Malcolm Floyd caught five times for 96 yards and a touchdown reception to make the Chargers stay away of the game over Ravens. Vincent Jackson had three receptions for 84 yards as he complimented on the passing game of Rivers. Antonio Gates added 31 yards in two receptions for the Chargers.

The Chargers didn’t only make the damage on the passing game but also on the ground as Ryan Matthews rushed 26 times for 90 yards with two touchdowns. A well-balanced offense completely defied the defense of the Ravens this time.

On the other hand, Baltimore Ravens continued to struggle on the road as they are no longer at the top of their division. Yes, even the emergence of Ray Lewis couldn’t help the Ravens to secure a win as they faltered along the way big time again.

Joe Flacco completed 23 of 34 passes for 226 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Flacco couldn’t deliver the necessary passes early in the game and he couldn’t shift the game to their advantage.

Two games left, the Ravens have no control of their destiny but they themselves already secured a playoff spot, at least a wildcard. If Steelers win all their games, then the Ravens will be in the wildcard.
