Adam Scott 8-under par for the second round

Adam Scott made sure that he can compete for the title for the next rounds as he drilled in a high rated performance 8-under par in the second round of the Deutsche Championship 2011. He jumped quietly into the leaderboard by attacking the course with determination and precision.

Bubba Watson’s aggressively shot 7-under 64 in the second round of the Deutsche Bank Championship to be atop the PGA leaderboard, 10-under par for the tournament. Watson surprises the field when everybody saw his name clinging on top as he pulled off that magnificent performance. However, his shared the lead with Adam Scott and Brandt Snedeker.

It wasn’t an easy day for Watson but he took care of the business by drilling most of the birdie opportunities, six birdies, an eagle, a bogey, the rest pars to complete his magical round that put him currently in first place. In the front nine alone, he made two birdies and a par 5 hole eagle to stabilize his run for the day. Moreover, he produced four birdies in the back nine with a bogey. Watson found himself on top of the PGA Deutsche Bank leaderboard as he labouriously toiled in the second round.

Brandt Snedeker also made the jump who shot for 7-under par 64 for the day, 9-under par for the tournament to bring him into second place. Amazingly, he drilled in two eagles in the par 3, 16th and par 5, 18th holes to surge in the final holes. Snededer compiled for five birdies, two eagles, two bogeys, and the rest pars to sustain his solid second round at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Bridgestone Champion Adam Scott is knocking at the door with 8-under par after 15 holes in the second round, 9-under par for the tournament. Currently, he has a bogeyless performance with five birdies and an eagle also. Scott has been quiet at the Barclays and in the PGA but this time he managed to attack just to bring him on top of the PGA leaderboard. He is expected that one of the rounds of the Deutsche Bank Championship will be his.

Charl Schwartzel is not fading in his chase for the title, 5-under par for the day and tied at first place. He just climbed to the PGA leaderboard by making four consecutive birdies. After 14 holes, Schwartzel chances still is alive because he is hot making birdies after failing to do it in the front nine.

Jason Dufner also is making a move in the second round shooting 4-under par after 16 holes, 7-under par for the tournament. Dufner found his touch again as he delivered six birdies but two bogeys. We all know that Dufner failed to capitalize his lead in the PGA Championship a month ago. He is making sure that he can still win despite the setback.

With a bogeyless round, Ernie Els jumped to the top 10 in the second round by hitting 6-under par. Els flawless putts coupled with his strong tee shots allowed him to be just four shots behind the PGA leaderboard. Els is the name that everybody is watching for because of his experience and his capability of coming back to the game. If he can sustain his momentum in the third round, eventually he will find himself on top of the PGA leaderboard.

Sergio Garcia early in the day was making noise when he shot for 6-under par 65. He consistently worked hard just to give himself a shot for the title making seven birdies, a bogey, and 10 pars to complete his round. He has the capability to comeback and he has the experience to win the Deutsche Bank Championship 2011.

Meanwhile, Jerry Kelly struggled to make birdies in the second round as he shot for 3-under par. Kelly found himself in trouble most of the times specifically on his second shots that he didn’t make advances.

Yesterday’s leader Troy Matteson currently couldn’t make the necessary move as he is shooting 1-over par after 14 holes. He couldn’t find the touch that he had in the first round. He is currently at 5-under par and still has a chance to make the move.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson easily faded as he registered a 1-over par second round, 2-over par for the competition. Mickelson couldn’t find his touches in putting and couldn’t get the exact swings on his second shots.
