PGA Chevron World Challenge 2011: Tiger Woods on top of the leaderboard

After two rounds of play, Tigers Woods capture the lead in the Chevron Challenge 2011 by hitting a five under par 67 in the second round. Woods finally on top of the Chevron Challenge PGA leaderboard.

Woods drilled in two eagles, five birdies, eight pars, and two bogeys in the second round to make his chance even better in his bid to win his first tournament in two years. In the front nine Woods putted an eagle in the second hole par 5 and he followed it with a birdie in the third hole. He made an error in the sixth hole that eventually ended up a birdie. However, he again drilled in a birdie putt in the eight hole.

In the field of 18 players, Woods will have be consistent to finish it right until the final round of the Chevron Challenge 2011. Woods has been playing with precision when in the second hole he maneuvered the ball on the side of the hill under a tree when he knocked a 5-iron with a fade over the water to a front pin. It was a fantastic shot that Woods delivered with just four feet from the cup.

Matt Kuchar and K.J. Choi are just behind with thee shots deficit. Choi, the first round leader, failed to sustain his lead when made mistakes after mistakes in the par 3 15th hole with a quadruple bogey. Those seven strokes in a par 3 hole obviously damage his determination to have the lead at the end of the day. Though he managed to recover by drilling in a birdie in the following hole. Choi ended up shooting 1 over par 73 for the round.

Kuchar also had a fantastic second round shooting 5-under par 67. He managed to keep up with the score of Woods as he accurate made the necessary moves to climb into second place. Kuchar drilled in seven birdies, nine pars, and two bogeys to complete the day. He is 5-under par for the tournament. He can make the necessary adjustments in the next round if he wants to catch Woods.

Zach Johnson is another player who shot for 5-under par 67 for the second round. He drilled in six birdies and one bogey, all the rest pars to complete his day. Johnson is just four shots behind Woods. Johnson played with aggressiveness in the front nine as he managed to drill in four birdies consecutively.
