The circus in the NFL free agency 2011 continues as the Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings and Donovan McNabb have reached an agreement as McNabb will be traded to the Vikings.
One of the biggest problems on the quarterback’s problems to be wearing the Vikings uniform was resolved. This is all about compensation issues that created the stalemate earlier today. McNabb will be the Vikings starting quarterback in the 2011 season replacing Brett Favre who is already retired and Tarvaris Jackson who went to the Seattle Seahawks.
McNabb was acquired by the Minnesota Vikings via trade in which a 2012 sixth round draft pick and a conditional sixth round draft pick for 2013 to Washington. Redskins made that promising contract to McNabb in 2010 acquring him from Philadelphia Eagles but the quarterback didn’t play the way it should be for the Redskins coach Mike Shanahan.
For the Redskins, the starting quarterback goes to John Beck with Kellen Clemens will fight for the starting job as he agreed for the Redskins to play for one year.
Also on the NFL free agency, the Tennessee Titans completed a deal with Matt Hasselbeck in a multi year contract who was not comfortable with the Seattle Seahawks offered of a year $7 million. Hasselbeck played for the Seahawks since 2001 and he led the team reached the Super Bowl. Furthermore, Jake Locker is expected to be the future of the Titans.
The Tennessee Titans quarterback Kerry Collins announced his retirement few weeks ago that they needed Hasselbeck to lead the team in search for wins and probably to enter the playoffs.
Titans has been a formidable playoffs team in the past two years taking all the advantages they have on the division. Titans might be stronger this time with Hasselbeck playing the quarterback.
