New York Knicks Jeremy Lin: Five Reasons why Linsanity fever lasts longer
The hype of Jeremy Lin shakes the nations around the world most specifically the United States, China and Taiwan. Not to forget about New York that rejuvenates the passion of basketball as Lin emerges. Lin led Knicks into a six-consecutive games that he created the buzz and refreshed the topic of the conversations on New York’s future. Many believed that Lin is the needed piece for the Knicks to compete with the likes of Chicaco Bulls, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference of the NBA.
Because of what Lin did already in the the last six games, there is a question if he will continue to make those high level performances. In the night when Knicks vs Kings will battle it up in the Madison Square Garden, here are reasons why he will be in the Knicks uniform even in the playoffs.
1. He is clutch – Forget about the 25 plus games of Lin. The fact of the matter is that he made the clutch shots. He did it against the Lakers, Timberwolves, and the Raptors. When the game is on the line, it is Mike D’Antoni’s call now to give the ball to Lin and let him decide what to do: to take the shot or to pass. This is the most important asset of Lin in his game that will make him last longer.
2. He is smart – He knows how to play the game. When pass the ball when he see’s it right and he takes the shot at the right time. He is a smart basketball player that the coach and his teammates will be relying on as the game progresses.
3. He can do both, assist and score – What a time for the Knicks to possess a player who thinks to assist the ball before taking the ball to the hoop. He also can score anywhere on the court. He can take outside shots with high percentage.
4. Jeremy Lin fits to the offense of Knicks – Like Steve Nash, Lin fits to the offense of D’Antoni. The spread offense will likely be the system for Lin to flourish in his career. With Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire scoring at the 20′s a game, the fast offense of the Knicks will give Lin the avenue to score for himself.
5. He has the passion for the game – As undrafted, he has the passion for the game. That’s the biggest difference of all. It is not a merely about his talent for it wasn’t there years ago. He trained hard to be here and it is not a miracle at all.
