Before the MLB All Star Game starts, Derek Jeter is creating the debates in the country whether it is wrong for him not to play Tuesday’s game. His reason for not playing is emotional and physical exhaustion which produces doubt from the baseball fans. Will it be proper for him to skip this All Star Game even though he is not in the disable list?
This uproar from the fans to see Jeter batting in the MLB All Star Game will continue until the first pitch will be thrown. According to reports, Jeter wants to take rest to prepare him for the next half of the season. Furthermore, he was exhausted in chasing the 3,000 hits last week that he needs time to recuperate.
The critics want him to be in the game just for introduction or cheering his American League teammates. However, Jeter’s decision is being defended now by commissioner Bud Selig as Jeter has calf injury in the past weeks. But the the desire here of the critics is Jeter owe the fans to be there because he was selected and that he should be a role model.
With or without Jeter, the All MLB All Star Game 2011 will start at 8:00 PM ET. Jered Weaver vs Roy Halladay will be starting for the American League and National League respectively. It would be a dream matchup as these pitchers are capable of making scoreless innings against the best sluggers in the MLB. This is a pitching duel that everybody wants to see.
The MLB All Star Game 2011 will be covered by Fox at the Chase Field in Arizona. In this game we will be seeing the best of the Major League Baseball gearing up for the biggest midsummer game. Just to remind you that the stake is high because the winner of of the game will have the homecourt advantage in the World Series on October.
