FT:
Stoke City 1 – 1 Manchester United
Manchester United continues to dominate the English Premier League as it face Stoke City in today’s game. Manchester United looks for the team’s sixth wins in six games to make pursue their perfect record.
The defending champions approach in all their games so far is total domination against their opponents in goal scoring area. The Red Devils defeated rival Chelsea last week that surprised many because Chelsea was overpowered significantly. Surely, Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling, and Nani to score for the team in their previous game. Ferguson has the weapons that he can push anytime the team needs to score.
Manchester United pulled off another victor against Leeds, 3-0 in the Carling Cup last Tuesday. The victory showed to the world what this team has to topple all their opponents not only in the English Premier League.
Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck, and Dmitar Berbatov are included in the tough players of Ferguson to use in this game against Stoke City. Rooney of course is the star as he already drilled in nine goals to the total of 21 goals for Manchester United in five Premier league games.
In addition to the players mentioned already for Man United, Ashley Young can also provide the necessary goal if needed by the team. Yes, this Manchester United team is built to win another English Premier League title this year.
An interesting historical background in this game is that the Red Devils won three times already when they visited Stoke City. This means that they can win games on the road especially against Stoke.
In this game, strikers Javier Hernandez and Daniel Welbeck could miss this game as both are recovering from injuries. Rio Ferdinand also is questionable so does Nemanja Vidic. However, with the depth of the team, Smalling and Phil Jones have been playing well for Vidic and Ferdinand in the previous game.
Manchester United must start and dominate early so that Stoke City will have no chance at all of getting back in the game. With the offensive attacks of Manchester United, it is up for Stoke City to meet the challenge.
Stoke City is not a pushover team that Manchester United will have an easy way of winning. Manager Tony Pulis knows how important this game for his team. Stoke City’s defensive schemes might stop Manchester United in today’s game. Surely, it won’t be easy to defend the United but Pulis has a gameplan to win this game.
Pulis will do everything to inspire his team about defeating a giant team. Surely, Stoke has a great start with nine games total that includes Europa League, the team is undefeated before playing at the Stadium Light against Sunderland.
The team has a solid defensive schemes that can stifle Manchester United. It is one of the ways to make the game winnable in the last minutes for Stoke City. Of courst the team has to rely on strikers like Peter Crouch, John Walters, and Kenwyn Jones. However, the problem for Stoke City is scoring goals. Defense may be needed in this game but scoring is a must against a powerhouse Manchester United.
If Pulis is looking for better game, Ferguson is desiring to win big to make another statement. Surely this game is important for Stoke City so that the team can rise back into contention.
Stoke is currently in fifth place in the English Premier League, a win against Manchester United will be a great boost for all the players that they can play the best team in the league.
Manchester United’s offense vs Stoke City’s defense will be the focus of this game. Will Manchester United keep winning or this will be the end of their streak?
