After a month in the NBA, the Clippers are considered to be better than the Lakers because of the emergence of Chris Paul who continually making his team a contender. Currently first in the Pacific Division, Clippers can create the atmosphere of a better rivalry against the Lakers.

Guard Paul has made an impact just early in the season as provides the stability in the scoring and distributing the ball for the Clippers. He provides also the avenue for star Blake Griffin to operate on the offensive with better proficiency. Paul drilled in 33 points in his first game as a Clipper against the Lakers in a 102-94 victory. He made the team better by have a record of 9-5. With his presence on the floor as the anchor of the offense, Paul will be the main focus of Clippers offense.

Los Angeles Clippers also are making the case that this year they are the best team in LA. Blake Griffin scored 22 points and he added 14 rebounds against the Lakers. Griffin plays a lot stronger with purpose with Paul on the floor. Grabbing the rebounds and scoring points will be the main priority of Griffin. He can also be dominant in his matchup against any Lakers players.

Adding up the offense of the Clippers is Chauncy Billups who still can make shots especially when the game is on the line. Not only that he is the backup of Paul, Billups also can play alongside Paul in most of the basketball time for the Clippers. With Paul, Griffin and Billups, the Clippers can be better this season.

On the other hand, the Lakers are up to the challenge as they will try to recover from three streak losses on the road. Surely, the Lakers are looking to stop the slide and that they want to make the necessary adjustments to be competitive this season. Despite Kobe Bryant’s making the scoring, the Lakers still have not enough passion to be victorious on the road. Complacency arises as all the players are fitting to the new system.

In the previous game against the Clippers, Bryant scored 42 points but his performance was not enough to dismantle the rival. This time around, Kobe has to prove as his team is chasing Clippers. With the help of Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, the Lakers have the capability of winning this game in a strong fashion. Gasol still is not consistent on his game while Bynum averages better than last season in points and rebounds.

For the Clippers, Carron Butler will be playing while Mo Williams will be yet another player for the Clippers to sustain the momentum against the Lakers. It is true that this is a showdown that everybody is looking for.
