Giants vs Packers score: Eli Manning 37 yard TD to Hakeem Nicks ends half time
Eli Manning drilled in a 37 yard touchdown to Hakeem Nicks to distance the Giants against the Packers 20-10 in the first half of the NFC Divisional Playoff game. Manning already completed 14 of 24 passes for 274 yards to exploit the defense of the Packers. He threw two touchdowns to Nicks as the Giants continue to dominate the top ranked Packers.
Nicks already caught five times for a whooping 152 yards that included the 66-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter and the 37-yard at the end of the second quarter. Nicks has been extricating himself from the Packers defense that couldn’t keep up with the surprise offensive package of the Giants. Victor Cruz also caught three catches for 46 yards as the Giants have the edge in the passing game.
On the other hand, the Packers offense has been stagnant though it can explode anytime with Aaron Rodgers as the anchor. Rodgers completed 12 of 21 passes for 117 yards with only a touchdown. He is being harassed and pressured by the Giants defense that he struggled most of the time. The passing game of the Packers is being tamed by the Giants defense that it couldn’t be the same like the way people expected it to be.

1. Defense – Stopping Atlanta Falcons in the wildcard game was a great accomplishment for the Giants. They did it in the past against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl and here they are again having the defense in place to check the Packers offense. Absolutely Green Bay runs complicated variations of their spread offense but the Giants have the lethal approach to eliminate the advantage of the Packers. Just look what happened to the Saints losing to the defense of the Niners. It can happen also to the Packers because the Giants can overwhelm them through defense.
2. Eli Manning – He claimed to be as the same class as Tom Brady. Probably he is right as he reached almost the 5,000 passing mark this season. Manning knows how to operate the offense of the Giants. He exactly understands how weak is the defense of the Packers in the passing game that he can utilize Nicky Cruz and Hakeem Nicks in a variety of offensive plays. Manning is the inspiration of this team and the team goes as he leads. Manning will deliver the pass in crucial moments.
3. Special Teams – The Giants also have the edge in special teams. Take time in looking for punt return and kickoff return from the Giants. Surely, they can alter the course and result of this game through their special team.
4. Ascending Time – Peaking at the right time are the New York Giants. The level of their morale is elevating in a manner like the way they had it in 2007. Giants have been in a state of elevation that this game will be very important for them. Yes, the Packers are 15-1 but the Giants won their last three games in convincing manners. Because they are playing great at the right time, it is possible for them to beat the Packers.
5. Rushing game – To negate or to slow the offense of the Packers, the Giants have to play more on the ground so that they can take control of the time. Surely, it is important for the Giants to rush the ball to kill time allowing lesser possessions for the Packers.
Prediction: Giants win this game in a tight match and this game will be determined by the five things that I mentioned above.
