Federer vs Nadal Start Time: Australian Open 2012 Results and Updates
Update: Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer 6-7 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (5), 6-4
Roger Federer is not starting to give up yet in getting another grand slam as he faces his biggest rival Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of the Australian Open 2012. Federer is already considered the best tennis player of all time and he keeps piling on his records as he tries to advance to the Australian Open Finals. However, Nadal also is still in his prime and this is yet another match for him to prove to the world that he can beat Federer not only in the French Open and US Open.
For the first time since 2005 in the French Open, Federer and Nadal will meet in a grand slam semis. Most of the times, Federer or Nadal has been No 1 or No 2 seed in the past years but this time around Djokovic occupied the first place that provided the match in the semis. Though Federer’s prime is about to end, he still can beat big players including Nadal but this will be a great test for him.
Nadal also hasn’t won a grand slam for a long time and that he is hungry for this Australian Open 2012. The Spaniard has been consistent also in his career though he has to prove that he can win tournaments more outside the French Open. Nadal defeated Tomas Berdych in one of the contentious quarterfinals 6-7 (5), 7-6 (6), 6-4, 6-3 that reached more than four hours of play.
Ninth consecutive Australian Open is one of the accomplishments of Federer when he dismantled Juan Martin del Potro 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. It was a match in which he easily navigated using his forehand volleys and his serves were sharp that it produced aces. Federer knows exactly what would be this matchup meant for his career. In the previous outings, Nadal has the numbers over him.
Nadal seeks for his 11th grand slam while Federer looks for his 17th. The nearest for Federer’s record of 16 grand slams is Nadal as he is still young with 10 already. This is one of the biggest tennis games of all time and the winner will advance to the Australian Open 2012 Men’s Finals.
