Drew Brees current yards in Falcons vs Saints Monday Night Football
Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rogers? All of them couldn’t even do it but Drew Brees has all the opportunity in the world to get one of the most coveted milestones in the NFL.
With the focus on the Falcons vs Saints standings in the NFC as they battle it out Monday Night Football, Drew Brees gets more of the attention for he is about to break Dan Marino’s record of 27 yards for most yards in single NFL season of 5,084. He needs just 305 yards in this game against rival Atlanta Falcons.
Brees current yards is 221 yards with 39 left in the second quarter as the Saints have the position of the ball. For the last 27 years, Marino’s record was impossible to touch until this time Brees can possibly make it in just 15 games.
Brees doesn’t want this thing to destroy the essence of the game that he came low in most of the interviews this week. But the eyes of the football world want to see him do it as he leads the Saints into a battle against the Falcons.
In 2008 he was closed at getting the record when he reached 5,069, 25 yard shy of Marino. But this is the moment that everybody is waiting for. It was like a wall that nobody can break it, Brees can do it tonight in Monday Night Football.
As for Marino, this will be another time that his name will easily be forgotten for a new name will arise in the football world. Surely, Marino will not be happy about this as his name will not be mentioned more often again when it comes to single season yards passing.
