The defense is the area in which both teams are mirror to each other. On paper, Alabama Crimson Tide is a better defender but in reality LSU Tigers defended and overpowered ranked teams.

Meanwhile, Crimson Tide finished their season with three wins to stay at 11-1 with the only blemish against LSU

Alabama may not be tested yet as far as the all around game but they are ready to take the pounding from the LSU Tigers. With weeks of preparation, coach Nick Saban knows exactly the key ingredients in capturing this SEC game of supremacy. Saban understands that this is yet another game for him to be acknowledged as one of the greatest coaches in college football if his team can make the upset.

For LSU, coach Miles also had been in this situation before winning also a national title, he must have the accurate understanding on how powerful the Crimson Tide are. Miles prepared for this game in every aspects and his players are ready to give a dose of defensive prowess over Crimson Tide’s offense.

Alabama has Dont’a Hightower as the defensive leader while LSU has Tyrran Matthieu to negate the offense of the Tigers. A game in which defense will be given the priority by both teams. Alabama vs LSU football game will be about two teams with determination to dominate through the defense.

LSU vs Alabama Quarterbacks

It would be difficult to fathom how Alabama will eliminate the efficiency of quarterback Jarrett Lee and even Jordan Jefferson. If is one thing to stop LSU’s offense, it is another thing to score against that mounted defense of the Tigers. If the Crimson Tide wants this game more, they must be in the capacity to bang bodies and to be the aggressor over the LSU.

Alabama’s defense never had faced an offense like LSU in which two quarterbacks can make the difference of the game. Yes, LSU can alter the game’s momentum if Lee and Jefferson will effectively navigate through Alabama’s defense.

Crimson Tide’s offense will primarily rely on quarterback A.J. McCarron who already had 2400 yards passing, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. McCarron can be explosive in spreading the ball to his receivers but he hasn’t seen LSU’s defense. He must be ready to take to a higher level if needed as he guides his team to victory.

Furthermore, the running game of Trent Richardson will always be the key for the offense of the Crimson Tide. Richardson rushed 1583 yards, 20 touchdowns for the season. He can also be a dynamic receiver as he already caught 27 passes for 327 yards. He must be willing to pound his body just to find the gaps and spaces through the Tigers’ defense.

Tigers quarterback Lee had already completed 98 of 155 passes for a total of 1306 yards, 14 touchdowns, and only three interception. Lee anchors the game with carefulness. He is the leader of the team and he is willing to play with such precision in the offense just to hit his targets. The passing offense of LSU will be one of the keys to break the defensive schemes of Alabama. However, Jordan Jefferson will start as the quarterback of LSU in this BCS National Championship Game.

LSU safety Brandon Taylor fells the magnitude of this game as he focuses himself on his job in alleviating the passing game of the Crimson Tide. LSU offensive lineman T-Bob Hebert is ready to face the defense of Alabama and he believes that his offense are used of playing a tight defense in practice.

It is important to mention also that Alabama’s secondary has safety Mark Barron and cornerbacks Dree Kirkpatrick and DeQuan Menzie to look for any possible breakaway passes. Alabama has the size with linebackers in Hightower and Courtney Upshaw.
