Browns vs Jets Final Scores, Results and Updates: NFL Scores Week One. The Cleveland Browns face the New York Jets in Week One of the NFL 2015 on Sunday, start time at 1:00 PM ET, at MetLife Stadium.
The New York Jets start the season with a new head coach Todd Bowles and with Ryan Fitzpatrick as the starting quarterback after Geno Smith suffered a punch from his teammate that would sideline him for the first four weeks. Fitzpatrick is reunited with offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, who was with the Bills from 2010-2012 with the quarterback as the starter.
Last week, the New York Jets defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 24-18, in the final game of the NFL Preseason. Matt Flynn, who was released after, threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns in 10-for-14 passes. Darryl Richardson had 72 yards and one touchdown in 22 carries.
The Cleveland Browns will have an opportunity to start strong through the leadership of coach Mike Pettine. Josh McCown will be the starting quarterback and Johnny Manziel will be the backup.
”It’s our job to put him in situations where he can thrive and I think that’s true with any team, but especially true for us,” coach Mike Pettine said. ”To me, he’s only going to be as good as his supporting cast.”
Last week, the Cleveland Browns suffered a terrible 24-0 loss to the Chicago Bears, in the final game of the NFL Preseason. Thad Lewis completed 14 of 20 passes for 100 yards to lead the Browns. Terrance West had 35 yards in nine attempts on the ground.
