New England Patriots Playoff Schedule 2013
New England dominantly outmaneuvered Houston Texans through the magnificent delivery of quarterback Tom Brady who will have a chance to be back in the Super Bowl for the sixth time. Brady completed 25 of 40 passes for 344 yards as he surpassed his childhood idol Joe Montana in playoff wins with 17. Brady also controlled the game flawlessly without throwing any interception against the tight defense of the Houston Texans.
Brady also entered into the elite quarterbacks who threw at least 40 touchdowns in the playoffs with Montana and Brett Favre. Surely, the motivation of Brady is to get his fourth Super Bowl ring that will tie him with Montana. The quarterback had so many weapons at his disposal like the emergence of runningback Shane Vereen who scored thrice, two in receptions. Vereen had 41 yards in rushing while 83 yards in receiving.
Adding up to the core of the offense of the Patriots are Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez with 131 yars and 85 yards respectively. Not to forget Brandon Lloyd who caught five times for 32 yards that included a touchdown. There’s no doubt that the Patriots are happy to win the game because they will play at home in the upcoming AFC Championship game.
Baltimore Ravens Playoff Schedule 2013
What about the Baltimore Ravens who stunned the No 1 seed Denver Broncos? Who can forget the 47-yard field winning field goal of Justin Tucker that killed the chance of the Broncos to be in the Conference title game. It even destroyed the dream match of quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
However, the biggest play of all was the 70 yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to Jacoby Jones that tied the game with 31 seconds left in regulation. This might be called destiny but the fact of the matter was that Denver had so many chances of closing it out but failed to do so.
This set the Baltimore Ravens to play New England Patriots in a rematch of the AFC Championship game a year ago.
NFC Conference Championship Game 49ers vs Falcons, January 20, 2013 at 3:00 PM ET
Atlanta Falcons Playoff Schedule 2013
After ending the second quarter with a comfortable 20-0 lead, the Atlanta Falcons allowed the Seattle Seahawks to bounce back into the game that needed the 49-yard field goal of Matt Bryan with eight seconds remaining to advance to the NFC Championship Game. Atlanta won the game 30-28.
Atlanta yielded 21 points in the fourth quarter for the Seahawks to take the lead 28-27 as Marshawn Lynch scored a 2-yard touchdown with 31 seconds left. However, Matt Ryan never gave up the hope as he completed two long passes to set the long field goal. It could have been a major collapse in an epic proportion if the Falcons didn’t win. But the great thing is that they will host the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.
San Francisco 49ers Playoff Schedule 2013
It’s Colin Kaepernick who was credited for the success of the 49ers when they defeated the raging Green Bay Packers, 45-31. Kaepernick’s numbers are mind boggling. He accumulated 181 rushing yards the shocked the Packers defense. Furthermore, he also completed 17 of his 31 passes for 263 yards. Yes, Kaepernick will have his time to shine against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game.
