2012 Rose Bowl Final Score: Oregon Ducks overpower Wisconsin Badgers 45-38

An offensive showdown for the Oregon Ducks and the Wisconsin Badgers but in the end, the defensive stands of the Ducks was the blueprint of their success in the Rose Bowl 2012. Oregon outlasted Badgers 10-0 in the fourth quarter to win the Rose Bowl 45-38 in a classy offensive games for both teams.

LaMichael Jones as expected rushed for 159 yards in 25 carries to dominate the game for the Ducks. However, what surprising were the two carries of De’Anthony Thomas for 155 yards. Two scores for 91 yards and 64 yards respectively that caught the shallow defense of the Wisconsin Badgers. Surely the Badgers played into the hands of the Oregon Ducks as the tempo was so fast not suited for the Badgers.

Darron Thomas was steady in connecting the passes as he completed 17 of 23 for 268 yards. He threw eight passes to Lavasier Tuinei for 158 yards, four passes to Thomas for 34 yards, two passes to Kenjon Barner for 52 yards, and two passes fo Josh Huff for 14 yards. As expected, the navigated through the defense of the Wisconsin Badgers and he made the difference in the fourth quarter.

Wisconsin Badgers luck in the Rose Bowl was not evident as they falter in the fourth. Monte Ball rushed for 164 yards in 32 carries while James White rushed eight times for 30 yards as the Badgers looked more on the run but it wasn’t enough. Their score was enough to win but the defense couldn’t contain the offense of Oregon paving the way for another Rose Bowl defeat.

Russel Wilson completed 19 of 25 passes for 296 yards as he tried to make the statement. However, the offense of the Badgers couldn’t provide the scoring in the fourth quarter. Nick Toon caught nine times for 104 yards while Jared Abbrederis caught four times for 119 yards. Ball added 51 yards on rushing also.

Oregon Ducks proved that they have the defense to stop the Badgers when the game is on the line.
