Desperate Housewives: “Not Fits, No Fights, No Feuds”

Alma Hodge returns from the dead

Finally we find out what happened to Alma, thank goodness. Actually, I’m thinking this one was up in the air some and originally the writers intended for Alma to be dead, but this made for such a more entertaining end to the mystery, and Bree takes great pleasure in introducing the “supposed to be dead” Alma Hodge to her friends during a dinner party. Meanwhile, Lynette has just gotten her fifth child to raise and can you ever see this one developing. Kayla blames Lynette for her crazy mothers death and it doesn’t appear the apples fallen far from the tree. After giving Lynette a good time of it, Tom pleads with her to give Lynette a chance. She promises to be good but says she’ll never love Lynette.

I’m starting to tire of the Gabby and Carlos squabble. The spats they were having were pretty funny for a time, but now everybody knows they both still love each other and it’s just a matter of time before they get remarried. Let’s get a move on please. Then there’s Susan. Maybe Bree will off her at some point this season because as cute as Terri Hatcher is to watch, her character has just worn me out. Pick a guy and stick with him, if advice is needed, take the rich dude. Mike doesn’t remember her anyway, he obviously will at some point when his memory finally returns, but come on. Oh, and wait until she finds out sweet and innocent Julie has decided to do “the nasty” with Edie’s bad boy nephew Austin. Who of all people, later gets a guilt trip while in the sack with Danille because he doesn’t want to see Julie get hurt. Go figure.

We briefly get a look at Mike in jail, who in a wicked bit of Hollywood irony is in the same prison as Paul Young. I guess they’ll become best friends now. Finally we get to Bree’s dinner party and the much anticipated introduction of “dead Alma”. Yeah, the expected reaction and Bree’s relishing the moment until Detective Ridley shows up unannounced with the intentions of interrogating Orson about Monique. Bree finds out that Susan dropped the dime on Orson about his affair with Monique and in a moment of rage declares her friendship with Susan was over. No doubt that’ll last right up to the point we find out Orson probably did kill Monique.

As the shows wrapping up, Edie shows Alma a house on Wisteria Lane. She decides to take it because she feels the area is stable and friendships made will last forever. Yeah.
