Boise State vs Toledo: Broncos strong enough for Toledo
Boise State has another bright season for them as they start its second week in the NCAA College Football. Boise State Broncos will keep their momentum alive as they face Toledo on Saturday as the college football continues. Broncos didn’t play last week but still they are ranked fourth in the nation after beating Georgia Bulldogs in the season opener.
Quarterback Kellen Moore pulled off another magnificent performance completing 28 of 34 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns. Moore delivered the passes in times that the team needed badly making them survived against the SEC contender Bulldogs.
It was a game when the Broncos was playing an SEC team that they never had a chance of beating in the past. Moore started his passing by hitting Kyle Efaw in a 12 yard touchdown before halftime. Furthermore, he wanted to take care o the business by making seven straight passes for 69 yards that eventually ended into a touchdown run by Martin.
Because of his experience, Moore has been calm in controlling the offensive attacks for the Broncos. At times he just looked to his receivers like Efaw with six receptions for 55 yards, Matt Miller five receptions for 57 yards, and Mich Burroghs five receptions for 43 yards. Included in his weapons are Gabe Linehan, Doug Martin, Tyler Shoemaker and Kirby Moore.
Kellen Moore’s ability to spread the ball to his receivers will be the greatest advantage for the offense of the Broncos against Toledos defense. Broncos can be unstoppable if Moore will be sharing the ball to all his receivers once again.
Boise State Broncos might be affected if the three players suspended by the NCAA will still not be playing against Toledo. Safety Cedric Febis and receiver Geraldo Boldewjn are practicing with the team but the uncertainty remains.
Boise State will be looking for another undefeated season but they have to finish Toledo. It would be unwise for the Broncos if they will just be relaxed enough to play against the Rockets.
For the Toledo Rockets, they just suffered a disappointing loss to the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Rockets had at least two chances of upsetting the Buckeyes but they failed to do it and it seemed that there’s a little of frustration.
It is the moment for Toledo coach Tim Beckman to encourage his players to bounce back and to focus on beating the Broncos. In that game against Ohio State, they let the game slipped away from their hands as they let a touchdown on a punt returned then missing a field goal is another story that hunted them.
Furthermore, Toledo must find ways to avoid penalty as the team received 14 penalties that resulted into 102 yards. This affected their game in a way that the Buckeyes had taken advantage of it.
Offensively, running back Adonis Thomas will have to find ways to break the defense for the Rockets to have a chance against the Broncos. This is the moment for the Rockets to make an upset.
Toledo must have a balance game on the offense with the passing and running to make the defense of the Broncos tired early in the game. Yes, Toledo can make the win in this game and it will be on their hands to execute the necessary plays especially in crunch times.
